What LingoFlip processes, why it does it, and what stays in your browser — explained transparently.
Privacy, in short.
LingoFlip processes only the text you explicitly select on a webpage and request with an explicit click on “Übersetzen”. The extension scans no full pages, comments or browser history, and captures no accounts, passwords or payment data.
The selected text is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to the Google Translate endpoint translate.googleapis.com for the requested translation. Google may process that data under its own rules. LingoFlip operates no translation server of its own.

What data is transmitted?
Only the actively selected text and your chosen target language — and only when you click “Übersetzen”. Without that action, no translation request is made.
What is stored locally?
The selected target language and setup status are kept in chrome.storage.sync; a local usage counter sits in chrome.storage.local. Selected text is never stored as history or profile.
Is there tracking or advertising?
No. LingoFlip contains no ads and uses no analytics, tracking or profiling services. No user data is sold or rented.
Why does LingoFlip need permissions?
The storage permission keeps your settings and the local usage counter. Access to translate.googleapis.com is required to fetch the translation you request. The selected text is displayed inline on the current page.
